JOB DESCRIPTION
​Fanshawe College is a public Canadian college based in London, Ontario. Fanshawe attracts 22,000 students every year including 7,000 international students from 103 countries. Fanshawe is looking at expanding its international presence and adding to our current representatives that are based out of India, Korea, Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia, China, Turkey, Ukraine, Pakistan, and Kenya.
 
Fanshawe is looking for a representative based in Lagos, Nigeria.
 
The In-Country Representative will be responsible for active recruitment in West Africa, and primarily the markets of Nigeria and Ghana.
 
The In-Country Representative will be employed in Nigeria and work out of Lagos.

He/ she shall provide the following services:
 
Strategic planning
  • Prepare a marketing plan by country to attract qualified international applicants into full time post-secondary certificate, diploma and degree programs, and post-graduate certificate programs at Fanshawe College. The plan includes, but is not limited to, the achievement of projected enrolment targets for each semester (Winter, Summer, Fall) with the associated budget and a request for the promotional tools required to achieve the targets.
 
Education Partners
  • Actively work with our Education Partners to ensure required training has been provided to their staff. Build long-term business relations with these partners and ensure effective management.
  • Recruit and secure reputable and effective Education Partners.
 
Direct Recruitment
  • Build and nurture a network of high school counsellors to increase awareness of Fanshawe’s undergraduate programs and the benefits of pursuing undergraduate studies at Fanshawe College.
  • Promote the programs and services of Fanshawe College in schools, seminars, education fairs, and other appropriate venues to achieve increased student enrollment.
  • Provide program information and admission requirements to potential students/parents and advise on admission standards and processes. Pre-admission counselling should also be provided to assist students apply to programs that are commensurate with their academic potential and career goals.
 
Conversion activities
  • Secure complete applications for admission and encourage the conversion of admissions to enrollment.
  • Compile application data, which should be forwarded to the college for admission decisions and analyze and report on market trends.
  • Provide support for students’ travel to, and settlement in Canada by providing information and advice on travel and accommodation options, providing orientation materials, and conducting pre-departure orientation sessions.
  • Communicate with Education Partners, School Counsellors, and student applicants to confirm visa approvals, arrival dates, possible cancellations, or deferral to future start dates, and provide regular updates to Fanshawe College.
 
Record keeping and reporting
  • Report and communicate monthly to the Regional Manager, International Recruitment, and Market Development, and Market Leader. Monthly reports are to include the names, addresses and other related contact information of Education Partners and/or Schools visited or contacted in the month, indicating specific activities undertaken with these contacts, number of inquiries, number of applications and any other related outcomes and follow-up activity required by the International Centre at Fanshawe College.
  • Maintain Education Partner contact information and follow-up as agreed to by both parties.
  • Report to the Regional Manager, International Recruitment and Market Development, and Market Leader any issues arising from Education Partners and/or students, providing timely information.
 
Salary would be based on industry standards and include a re-earnable component.
 
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the international education industry in one or more of the target markets.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian education system is preferred.
  • An International Education qualification is preferred.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience of 2 to 5 years in a relevant industry.
 
Length of Engagement
2 years (subject to review on basis of performance)
