Following the earlier announced terminal capacity expansion project, APM Terminals Nigeria said its perfecting plans to put US$100 million investment into the acquisition of 20 new rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes for the West Africa Container Terminal (WACT).
This was in line with the recently announced plans by WACT to upgrade its container handling operation from reach stackers to RTGs in order to achieve greater stacking density, increase throughput, and productivity.
“This is part of our earlier announced expansion of the existing terminal capacity, a US$100 million investment, that started last year and that will be fully in place shortly.
