Nigeria’s telecommunications sub-sector emerged as one of the best performing sectors of the economy last year as it contributed a total of $33.1 billion (N11.9 trillion) to the country’s nominal Gross Domestic Products (GDP).
This represents a 22.6 percent increase year-on-year when compared with the N9.7 trillion it contributed in 2018. With this, the telecommunications sub-sector accounted for 8.25 percent of the aggregate nominal GDP for the economy in 2019, which stood at N144.2 trillion.
